Case Study – Potters Fields Park

Potters Fields lie on the southern side of the River Thames, right next to the iconic Tower Bridge and opposite the Tower of London. There is a network of different lawn areas and woodland walks, and the park is a great place to sit and enjoy the sights of London.

The park is used mainly by 3 groups of people: tourists, local residents and companies who hire the park space, often for photo shoots and promotional events.

The park is a government-funded enterprise and is one of the few remaining green spaces along the riverside.

When working with Potters Fields Park on their site, the key factors were clearly advertising upcoming events to potential visitors and giving potential hirers of the park a way to get in touch.

To announce upcoming events at Potters Fields Park, we added a left-hand column which displays the events listings in chronological order. If a visitor sees an event they are interested in, they then can click on the title of that event and read more about it on a specific page. The events and activities page also has a month-by-month calendar that clearly shows which events are on when, using a colour coded key This calendar, as well as the rest of the site, is built on our content management system, which allows Potters Fields Park to update or amend this information when necessary. As with all website design and build projects, Potters Fields Park were given the choice of three initial designs:

design 1

design 2

design 3

The initial design kick-off meeting gave the design team a clear idea of what was required for this project. This meant that the designing of the initial ideas ran smoothly, and it was easy for Potters Fields Park to work with us to develop the initial ideas into the final designs.

Potters Fields Park chose design 3, which was then developed into the full working website:

Since completing the design of the website, we have continued to work for Potters Fields Park on their email marketing campaign. And I for one have continued to enjoy spending time in the beautiful park.
