Rosie Millard - Case Study

As someone whose online identity was poached by a third party, and used on the web to rather embarassing and alarming effect, I am wholly grateful to Distilled for many different reasons. Firstly, Distilled advised me how to permanently reclaim my domain name, which I managed to do with speed and at no cost to myself. Secondly, Distilled set up a blog, designed a website and organised an email account for me very quickly and efficiently. Thirdly, Distilled has held my hand throughout the experience of managing my own site and blog. Rosie Millard, Journalist, Broadcaster and Author Rosie Millard

Rosie also mentions:

"As a forty something hack, my web skills were perhaps not as smooth as they might be (they were practically zero), but the team at Distilled showed me how to write, download and organise my web presence with great patience and tact. Then they showed me again - and again! - until at last I had the confidence that I could (probably) look after it myself. I'm confident that my website now acts as a fantastic introduction to my work and gives me a positive presence on the web, which is more than can be said for what was on there this time last year! I'd recommend Distilled to anyone wanting a personal site with plenty of interactive attachments and a contemporary feel, and I am quietly confident that my website is even the envy of my highly web-aware children..."

As our core expertise have expanded to encompass reputation management, we have been fortunate enough to work with journalist Rosie Millard. One of the measures that we have taken to increase Rosie’s presence on line was to build a profile website and a blog for Rosie.

Rosies fans can now easily see what Rosie is up to by following the frequent updates on her blog or find out more about Rosie’s background on her website.

The website is constantly updated using our content manager system. Rosie can easily edit the content herself; this allows her to keep the website up to date with the new articles she writes for many national newspapers.

The archive section of the website design in particular keeps stories in chronological order, the most recent articles appearing at the top, keeping content current.

The website also allows room for Rosie to publicise her book and to upload video footage from the television interviews she often appears in.

As with all our website designs, the process began with identifying the various elements that should be included. This led to the design phase which, in this case, resulted in a very modern web 2.0 style website. Rosie and her articles were the key features, so calls-to-action were specifically designed with this in mind.

The gradients and three-dimensional feel really helps this design to lift off the screen and makes it easily accessible to the website’s users.

We continue working with Rosie helping to keep her website current.
